Concussion and Vision

A concussion is a type of traumatic brain injury (TBI) that can affect your vision.  What are the visual symptoms of a concussion? 90% of patients with TBI will suffer visual symptoms.  Typical symptoms can include:  double vision, poor eye tracking ability, difficulties shifting gaze from one point to another, focus, visual fatigue, blurred near vision.

There can also be visual processing deficits such as spatial disorientation and poor depth perception.  Patients with concussion tend to be very light sensitive.

At 20/20 Vision, we are in tune with these issues and we are equipped to diagnose and treat TBI.

Dr. Mallory Kennedy is the staff doctor who treats these symptoms. There are special lenses, tints, and therapies designed to help you.  Schedule to see her and mention that you have experienced a concussion.
